Gloomy days: loved by some, loathed by many. For me, lying in bed hearing the tranquil sound of the rain crashing against the ground outside makes me extremely happy. Not just because we're in a water crisis, but also because to me cold days reminds me of cuddles and warmth. Cold weather is perfect for staying at home in a onesie with a delicious cup of coffee (made with real ground coffee beans of course) chilling (or working lol) in front of the TV or laptop. Unfortunately, that isn't my life.
Wake up. Traffic. Coffee. Class.
As bad as it seems, it's really not that awful. Yes, I would absolutely love to sleep in everyday, but I know having that mindset will make me feel so unproductive.
There are so many wonderful or (possibly terrible) outcomes for the day, but you'll never know what happens unless you get out of bed and take the day head on.
The funny thing is I'm saying all this as if I have a choice, I don't lol. If I don't go to class my mom will bust my ass and I'll fail. However on the contrary, if I didn't go to class by choice, I know I'll fall behind and have a constant guilty and anxious feeling of what I could've missed that day.
Winter days can be more difficult, you could possibly get sick (like me), you could get cold (also like me), or you could end up drinking excessive amounts of coffee (definitely like me). However, there are things you can do to make a crappy day less crappy.
For example: not a fan of gloomy days? Sunshine tends to make you smile? Find a place that creates the ultimate picture of beauty without the presence of sunshine. Find a place that makes you appreciate the beauty of gloomy skies. By the way, gloomy skies = best photo lighting.

Or, find yourself nearby an open fireplace. Fires offer warmth, comfort and create a lovely ambience. If you don't have a fire place at home, find somewhere with the same warm, comforting aura. Small quaint coffeeshops, bakeries, bookstores and libraries tend to do an amazing job.

And lastly, if it's a Monday or Friday or heck any other day, treat yo' self to a banger breakfast, my fave is always eggs Benedict (even if it's half portion cause student budget bless). This one is from Bootleggers. There's honestly nothing better than a delicious flavourful breakfast. If you start your day this way, it's almost a guarantee that its gonna be a goodie - and if it isn't, at least your breakfast was.

If these don't make your gloomy days less gloomy, try again and don't stop til it does.
